Ideal for

  • Single-phase homes requiring charging at up to 7.4kW
  • Offset bays where a 5m cable may be restrictive
  • Households alternating between forward and reverse parking
  • Grey render, brick and mixed-material exterior walls
  • Solar PV homes using export-aware charging

Works well with

  • Supplied primary CT clamp
  • Intelligent Octopus Go through the current Hypervolt integration
  • OVO Charge Anytime through the charger integration
  • Cat5e, HyperConnect or EV-Ultra CT extensions
  • Individual Type A double-pole external protection

The Hypervolt Home 3 Pro HV3PROAASG075T2 is a Space Grey 7.4kW tethered EV charger for a 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase supply, with a fixed 7.5m Type 2 lead and an IP66 enclosure. It suits domestic wall or pole installations where the charger cannot be positioned directly beside the regular vehicle inlet. This variant provides the middle cable length in the range, adding reach while remaining easier to manage than the 10m version.

  • 7.4kW maximum output with a 32A rated current
  • 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase incoming supply
  • Fixed 7.5m Mode 3 cable with Type 2 connector
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE 4.2 and optional Ethernet
  • Internal 6mA DC RCD-DD with integrated PEN protection
  • 328mm high x 243mm wide x 101mm deep, 6.9kg, Space Grey
  • IP66 ingress protection with IK10 impact resistance

How do the app and solar modes work?

The Hypervolt app provides timed schedules, charging records, access locking, maximum-current settings and adjustable LED controls. Boost allows normal charging, Eco combines available solar generation with grid electricity and Super Eco is the surplus-solar-only mode.

The supplied primary CT clamp measures total property demand and detects exported solar generation. The same measurement supports automatic load management, allowing charging current to reduce when household demand approaches the configured service limit.

Current official support is available for Intelligent Octopus Go and OVO Charge Anytime. Setup is completed through the relevant energy-provider app and remains subject to the provider's account, smart-meter and tariff requirements.

Where does the 7.5m cable help?

The middle-length lead suits driveways where a 5m cable may become tight when a vehicle is reversed, parked slightly off-centre or replaced with a model that has its inlet in another position. It also provides useful routing distance where the charger is mounted on a garage wall or beside the parking bay rather than directly alongside the inlet.

The enclosure doubles as a cable holder and the connector is stored in a separate holster. The intended route should avoid gates, steps, vehicle wheels and frequently used walking areas. Buyers comparing cable options can view the wider Hypervolt charger range.

What protection must be provided?

Internal PEN fault protection allows the charger to be connected to a suitable PME supply without an additional earth electrode. The charger also contains 6mA DC residual-current detection, but neither feature removes the need for external AC protection.

Hypervolt requires an individual double-pole RCD rated at least Type A. A separate overcurrent device is also required, with the installation guide stating that the electrician should assess whether a 32A or 40A device is suitable for the circuit conditions.

The CT connection can be extended up to 50m using Cat5e cable or up to 100m using HyperConnect or EV-Ultra cable. Rear and underside cable entries must be sealed correctly to retain the enclosure rating.

Is the CT clamp supplied with HV3PROAASG075T2?

Yes. A primary CT clamp is supplied for load management and solar-export measurement. It is normally installed around the incoming live meter tail at the service origin with its direction matched to normal current flow.

Can the charger operate below 32A?

Yes. The maximum operating current can be reduced through the app or permanently derated using the internal dip switches. A permanent limit may be required where the DNO or available supply capacity restricts the charger output.

Does the charger require an external RCD?

Yes. The external device must be individual, double pole and at least Type A. Type AC residual-current protection must not be used for the charger circuit.

Can Ethernet be installed with the CT wiring?

Yes. Hypervolt describes using the remaining Cat5 pairs for an RJ45 Ethernet termination where the specified wiring arrangement is followed. A wired network connection can be useful where the driveway has weak or variable Wi-Fi.
