The Hypervolt Home 3 Pro HV3PROAAUB075T2 is an Ultra Black 7.4kW tethered EV charger for a 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase supply, with a 7.5m Type 2 cable and IP66 ingress protection. It is the middle-reach black version, intended for homes where the charger cannot be mounted immediately beside the regular vehicle inlet. Its charging output and control hardware are shared with the shorter and longer Home 3 Pro variants.

  • 7.4kW AC charging output with a 32A maximum
  • 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase rated supply
  • 7.5m tethered Mode 3 Type 2 charging lead
  • Hypervolt app with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional Ethernet
  • Internal 6mA DC detection and integrated PEN fault isolation
  • 328mm high x 243mm wide x 101mm deep, 6.9kg, Ultra Black
  • IP66, IK10 and Smart Charge Points Regulations 2021 compliant

How does the black model use solar?

The supplied primary CT clamp measures the home's incoming load and detects exported generation. Eco mode can combine solar with grid electricity, while Super Eco is intended to charge from available surplus solar only. Boost remains available where the vehicle needs to charge without waiting for export.

Automatic load management uses the same CT information to reduce charging current when property demand approaches the configured limit. The charger can reduce output to 6A rather than allowing the EV circuit to overload the available service capacity.

Which layouts suit the 7.5m lead?

This version gives additional reach where the charging inlet is on the far side of the car, where a side wall is offset from the parking bay or where drivers use different parking directions. It is also more forgiving if a future vehicle places its inlet in another position.

The site survey should identify the full cable route and the intended holster position. Although 7.5m gives more flexibility than 5m, the extra lead should not be left across a pedestrian route or wound so tightly that the connector cable is strained.

How is protection arranged?

The integrated PEN system permits use on a suitable TN-C-S supply without a separate earth electrode. Internal 6mA DC RCD-DD is also provided. Neither feature replaces the external Type A double-pole AC protection and overcurrent device required for the dedicated charging circuit.

Hypervolt recommends B or C curve 40A overcurrent protection. The installation guide additionally requires the electrician to consider whether a 32A or 40A device is suitable for the environment, grouping and expected duration of full-load charging.

Can HV3PROAAUB075T2 use Intelligent Octopus Go?

Yes. Octopus provides a current connection process for Hypervolt chargers through its app. The customer must be on an eligible tariff and complete the charger authorisation and test process.

Is this charger compatible with OVO Charge Anytime?

Yes. OVO's current compatibility list includes the Hypervolt Home 3 Pro and identifies it as solar compatible. Account, smart-meter and service requirements still apply.

Can Ethernet and CT data share a cable route?

Hypervolt describes an installation method that uses available Cat5 pairs for the CT connection and the remaining pairs for an RJ45 Ethernet termination. The electrician must follow the stated wiring standard and separation requirements.

Does the charger need an external RCD?

Yes. Hypervolt states that all Home 3 Pro circuits require external AC residual-current protection and that Type AC devices must not be used. The external device must be at least Type A, individual and double pole.
