Ideal for

  • Single-phase homes requiring charging at up to 7.4kW
  • Regular parking positions within reach of a 5m fixed lead
  • Pale render, painted brick and light exterior finishes
  • Solar PV homes requiring CT-based export measurement

Works well with

  • The supplied primary CT clamp
  • Intelligent Octopus Go through current Hypervolt integration
  • OVO Charge Anytime through charger-based integration
  • Individual Type A double-pole external protection
  • Optional hardwired Ethernet where Wi-Fi is unreliable

The Hypervolt Home 3 Pro HV3PROAAUW050T2 is an Ultra White 7.4kW tethered EV charger for a 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase supply, with a fixed 5m Type 2 cable and an IP66 enclosure. It suits domestic installations where the vehicle normally parks near the wall or pole position and where a pale finish is preferred. The 5m cable is the shortest Home 3 Pro option, reducing the amount of lead that must be wound around the charger after each session.

  • 7.4kW maximum AC output with a 32A rated current
  • 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase incoming supply
  • Fixed 5m IEC 62196 Type 2 cable using Mode 3 charging
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE 4.2 and optional RJ45 Ethernet
  • Internal 6mA DC RCD-DD with integrated PEN fault protection
  • 328mm high x 243mm wide x 101mm deep, 6.2kg, Ultra White
  • IP66, IK10 and Electric Vehicles Smart Charge Points Regulations 2021 compliant

How does the white model manage charging?

The Hypervolt app provides scheduling, charging records, charger locking, maximum-current settings and selectable LED brightness. Boost mode permits normal charging, Eco combines available solar generation with grid electricity and Super Eco is the solar-only operating mode listed by Hypervolt.

The charger can be connected to Intelligent Octopus Go or OVO Charge Anytime through the relevant energy-provider app, subject to the customer's current tariff, account and smart-meter requirements. Its local Hypervolt schedules should be reviewed when a supplier controls charging so that two separate schedules do not conflict.

Where does the 5m lead fit best?

The fixed lead suits garages, side walls and driveway positions where the charging inlet is reasonably close to the unit. The route should be measured with the vehicle parked in its usual direction, including the path around the front or rear of the car rather than relying only on the straight-line distance.

The enclosure doubles as a cable holder and a separate connector holster is installed beside it. A 5m lead leaves less cable to store than the longer variants, but it provides less tolerance if the household changes vehicle, reverses into the space or moves the charger away from the parking bay.

What must the circuit include?

The charger has integrated PEN fault protection and internal 6mA DC residual-current detection. External AC protection is still required and must be at least Type A, individual and double pole. Hypervolt recommends B or C curve 40A overcurrent protection, although the installation guide also requires the electrician to assess whether a 32A or 40A device is appropriate for the operating conditions.

The supply cable must be selected for the protective device, route, installation method and calculated voltage drop. Rear and underside cable-entry arrangements are available, and every opening must be sealed with suitable IP66-rated glands or grommets.

Is a CT clamp supplied with HV3PROAAUW050T2?

Yes. Hypervolt supplies the primary CT clamp used for automatic load management and solar export measurement. It is normally fitted around the incoming live meter tail at the service origin.

How far can the CT connection be extended?

Hypervolt permits the CT wiring to be extended up to 50m using Cat5e cable. HyperConnect or EV-Ultra cable can be used for routes up to 100m when installed in accordance with the manufacturer guidance.

Can the installer reduce the 32A maximum?

Yes. Internal dip switches can permanently derate the maximum operating current below the factory 32A setting. Hypervolt describes this as a hard setting and states that it should be used where a DNO requires a permanent limit.

When must the charger be registered?

The installation guide requires the unit to be registered as installed within 48 hours. Hypervolt states that failure to complete this registration invalidates the warranty.
