It suits users who prefer a compact screen-free unit and want to select or store the vehicle cable separately. At 3.1kg, this untethered version is lighter than the GLO model supplied with a fixed 6.5m lead.

How is GLO controlled without a screen?

The myenergi app provides charging controls, schedules, settings and performance information. Multicolour indication on the charger communicates its operating state without a graphical display or menu system on the unit.

An NFC and RFID reader supports controlled access in shared domestic, tenant or staff parking. RFID credentials need to be configured correctly, and inclusion of a physical keycard should be confirmed against the current packaged stock before it is promised to the customer.

The charger communicates over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and local radio. A dependable network connection is required for remote app features and updates, so coverage should be assessed at the proposed mounting position.

Which cable should be selected?

The Type 2 socket requires a compatible Mode 3 cable between the charger and vehicle. The customer can choose the length around the parking layout and remove the lead after each session.

A shorter cable may be easier to carry and store where the vehicle parks close to the charger. A longer cable gives more tolerance for changing parking direction, different charge-port positions or an offset mounting location.

The socket locks the connected cable while charging. A suitable lead can be selected from the EV cabling range, with connector type, current rating and length checked before ordering.

What must be checked at installation?

Integrated PEN fault protection supports a suitable PME installation without an additional earth electrode. The unit also contains 6mA DC residual-current detection, but the external AC protection and overcurrent device still need to be selected for the final circuit.

CT sensing supports home-energy management, renewable-generation measurement and load control. The number and position of CTs should be planned around the meter, solar PV, battery system and any other myenergi equipment already installed.

The IP65 and IK10 enclosure is intended for permanent wall mounting indoors or outdoors. It must be mounted vertically, with the seals, cable entries and cover fitted correctly to maintain ingress protection.
