Ideal for

  • Single-phase homes requiring charging at up to 7.4kW
  • Regular parking positions within reach of a 5m fixed lead
  • Type 2 vehicles used for frequent home charging
  • Homes requiring CT-based dynamic load balancing

Works well with

  • The supplied single-phase CT clamp
  • Installer-selected 40A Type B MCB protection
  • Type A 30mA upstream RCD arrangements where required
  • Ohme app tariff scheduling and Solar Boost

The Ohme Home Pro OHME0002GB002 is a black 7.4kW tethered EV charger for a 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase supply, with a fixed 5m Type 2 lead and an IP55 enclosure. It suits domestic wall or post installations where the vehicle normally parks within easy reach of the charger. The defining difference from the longer Home Pro is the reduced cable length, which leaves less lead to coil and store after regular charging sessions.

  • 7.4kW maximum output with a 32A rated current
  • 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase incoming supply
  • Fixed 5m Mode 3 cable with Type 2 vehicle plug
  • Ohme app, colour LCD screen, unit buttons and multi-network mobile connectivity
  • 30mA Type A residual-current characteristic with 6mA DC and PEN fault detection
  • 170mm high x 200mm wide x 100mm deep, 4kg, black finish
  • IP55, IK08, UKCA marked and UK Smart Charging Regulations compliant

How does the Home Pro schedule charging?

The Ohme app can manage charging around a selected electricity tariff, required departure time and charging target. Price-cap settings can be used to restrict scheduled charging to periods that meet the user's selected electricity price, while the screen provides live information at the charger.

Current Ohme functions include tariff integration, charging-session monitoring, over-the-air updates and Solar Boost. Smart operation depends on a working data connection, so the proposed mounting position should be checked for suitable mobile coverage before installation.

Where does the 5m cable work best?

The 5m version is intended for predictable parking positions where the charger can be mounted near the vehicle inlet. The intended route should be measured with the vehicle parked normally, allowing the connector to reach without tension and without routing the cable across gates, steps or frequently used paths.

A cable holster is included for storing the connector between sessions. The compact 170mm x 200mm enclosure can be installed indoors or outdoors on a wall or compatible post. Buyers who need additional reach can compare the cable formats in the Ohme ePod and Home Pro guide.

What does the installer need to provide?

The charger incorporates an RCD-DD with a 30mA Type A characteristic and 6mA DC detection, together with built-in PEN fault detection. Overcurrent protection is not fitted inside the charger. Ohme recommends a 40A Type B MCB and states that any upstream RCD must be at least Type A, 30mA.

One CT clamp is supplied for dynamic load balancing and is normally positioned around the incoming live conductor between the electricity meter and main distribution equipment. The charger has a one-metre fixed 6mm² copper input lead that requires on-site termination in a suitable junction box, isolation switch or mini consumer unit, which is not supplied.

Is a CT clamp supplied with OHME0002GB002?

Yes. The current installation guide lists one CT clamp, two Wago clips, a connector block, cable holster and installation fixings with the Home Pro. The CT must be installed and commissioned correctly before dynamic load balancing can operate.

Which MCB does Ohme recommend?

Ohme recommends a 40A Type B MCB for the single-phase Home Pro circuit. Final protective-device selection, cable sizing and fault protection remain the responsibility of the installer and must reflect the actual installation conditions.

Does the fixed input lead need separate termination?

Yes. The one-metre input lead must be terminated on site in a suitable junction box, isolation switch or mini consumer unit. That connection equipment is not included with the charger.

What happens if the charger loses its data connection?

App schedules and remote communication require the charger to be online. Ohme states that an offline charger can continue charging the connected vehicle, but it cannot retrieve and manage an active smart schedule until communication is restored.
