The Rolec EVO Mounting Post Plate is the plate accessory for fitting an EVO charger to a compatible Rolec mounting post.

EVFP0120 is listed by Rolec as the EVO plate for mounting post, making it a fitment part rather than an electrical charger, cable or protection device. It should be specified where an EVO charger is installed away from a wall using the Rolec EVFP0035 mounting post. That post is listed with EVO as fitting up to two units and conforming with PAS 1899. The plate belongs in the same ordering schedule as the charger and post because a post-mounted installation needs the correct hardware route before the site visit. It is especially relevant to driveways, small commercial bays, workplace parking and residential spaces where the charger position is driven by cable reach and user access rather than by a convenient wall.

  • Rolec product code EVFP0120
  • EVO plate for mounting post
  • Accessory listed on the Rolec EVO product page
  • Used with EVO post-mounted charger installations
  • Specified alongside the EVFP0035 mounting post where required
  • Relevant where wall mounting is not the chosen route
  • Supported by Rolec accessory warranty terms

When does an EVO need this plate?

The plate is required when the EVO installation uses the Rolec mounting post route that calls for the EVO post plate. Wall mounting and post mounting are different physical installation methods, even where the same charger model is used. A post-mounted charger needs the correct support parts to hold the unit securely and present it in the correct position for the driver.

The post position should be set from the vehicle position, charge port side, cable movement and user approach. A well-placed post can make the charger easier to reach, while a poor post position can create cable strain or leave the unit exposed to vehicle movement. The plate does not decide those layout details, but it is part of the manufacturer-listed mounting package that lets the installer complete the post route cleanly.

How it fits into EVO post mounting

Rolec lists the EVFP0035 mounting post with EVO accessories and lists EVFP0120 as the EVO plate for mounting post. That means the charger, post and plate should be checked together rather than ordered as unrelated accessories. Where two units are planned on one post, the site layout needs extra attention because each charger requires usable access and a safe cable path to the vehicle.

For EVO installations, other related accessories may include Type 2 charging cables, the remote Type 2 plug holster and CT clamp kits for load balancing or solar monitoring. The plate should be treated as a physical fitment item within that wider schedule. For the matching post route, see the Rolec EVO, Zura, WallPod and Tap & Charge mounting post.

Checking the accessory schedule

Rolec uses different plates and posts across its EV ranges, so the EVO plate should not be substituted with a WallPod, Tap & Charge or SecuriCharge plate without confirming compatibility. EVFP0120 is the EVO plate. EVFP0040 is the WallPod plate for mounting post, and Tap & Charge has a separate plate item in the accessory structure.

The safest sequence is to identify the charger first, then the mounting post, then the required plate and any cable management item. If the charger is socketed, Type 2 cable storage may be planned separately. If the charger is tethered, the installer should also check where the connector and cable will rest after charging.

Protection around post-mounted EVO units

Moving a charger from a wall to a post can put it closer to turning vehicles. That can improve cable reach, but it can also increase exposure to impact. The post and plate should therefore be planned with bay markings, kerbs, walking routes and any protection barrier.

Where vehicle movement is close to the charger, a root mount EV chargepoint protection barrier can be considered during groundworks. On finished hardstanding, a surface mounted barrier may be the more practical route. Barrier position should protect the charger without blocking access to the EVO front, cable or connector.
