Ideal for

  • Single-phase homes requiring up to 7.4kW charging
  • Light commercial parking using RFID access
  • Drivers who bring a Type 2 charging cable
  • Solar PV sites using EVO charging modes
  • Wall or post mounted grey charger installations

Works well with

  • Compatible Type 2 charging cables
  • Included single-phase load-management CT
  • ROLEC EVO app and RFID cards
  • Compatible OCPP 1.6 management platforms
  • Installer-designed upstream circuit protection

The Rolec EVO ROLEC5011 is a Daytona Grey 7.4kW socketed EV charger for a 230V AC, 50Hz or 60Hz single-phase supply, with a 32A maximum output, universal Type 2 outlet and IP54 enclosure. It suits homes, workshops and light commercial parking that need plug-and-go, app or RFID operation without a permanently attached cable. This exact model is the single-phase EVO, not the separate 22kW three-phase ROLEC5013.

  • 7.4kW maximum charging output at 32A
  • 230V AC single-phase input at 50Hz or 60Hz
  • Universal Type 2 charging socket
  • Wi-Fi, Ethernet, app, RFID and OCPP 1.6 support
  • 30mA Type A AC, 6mA DC and PME fault protection
  • 260mm high x 260mm wide x 112mm deep in Daytona Grey
  • IP54, IK10 and five-year manufacturer warranty

How do EVO charging modes work?

Plug-and-go allows straightforward charging without requiring app or RFID authorisation. The ROLEC EVO app adds schedules, charging-mode control and energy information, while RFID can restrict use in shared parking.

Charge Now provides immediate charging. ECO can use available solar generation during the day and scheduled grid electricity at other times, while ECO+ is intended to allocate available surplus solar energy to the vehicle.

OCPP 1.6 permits connection to a compatible charge-point management system. The selected backend, user app and commercial arrangement must be confirmed separately for a managed site.

What is included for access and load control?

Two EVO RFID charging cards are included, providing a local access method without requiring every driver to use the mobile app. Further users and management requirements depend on the selected operating arrangement.

The current Rolec specification lists a CT clamp and cable with single-phase EVO models for automatic dynamic load balancing. The clamp must be installed at the correct supply position and configured so the charger can respond to other site demand.

Solar measurement may require the appropriate Rolec solar CT arrangement in addition to the standard load-management equipment. The exact monitoring design should be established during the electrical survey.

What protection remains external?

The EVO contains AC Type A and DC residual-current protection, PME fault detection, surge monitoring and over-temperature protection. PME monitoring is intended to remove the need for a separate earth rod on suitable installations.

The supply cable, upstream overcurrent device, isolation and any additional surge or distribution equipment must still be selected for the actual installation. Device coordination, cable rating, fault current and voltage drop remain the responsibility of the circuit designer.

The enclosure can be wall or post mounted. Cable entry, fixings and seals must preserve the IP54 rating, with supporting products available from the EV circuit protection range.

Is a charging cable included with ROLEC5011?

No. The EVO uses a universal Type 2 socket, so the vehicle lead is selected separately. The cable must match the vehicle, 32A charging requirement and bay layout.

How many RFID cards are supplied?

Two ROLEC EVO RFID charging cards are included. They can be used to authorise charging without relying on plug-and-go or a user’s phone.

Is the load-balancing CT included?

Yes. Rolec lists the CT clamp and cable as included with the single-phase EVO. Three-phase EVO installations use a different optional CT arrangement.

Can EVO be used at a small workplace?

Yes, where one 7.4kW AC socket meets the site requirement. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, RFID and OCPP 1.6 provide options for access control and compatible backend management.
