Ideal for

  • Single-phase Rolec EVO solar charging installs
  • Homes with compatible solar PV and EVO charging
  • Installers adding verified EVO solar CT hardware
  • Projects separating solar and load balancing CTs
  • Sites comparing single and three-phase EVO kits

Works well with

  • ACSR5014 EVO three-phase solar and load kit
  • ACSR5010 EVO load balancing CT clamp kit
  • Compatible Rolec EVO EV chargers
  • Type A RCBO EV consumer units
  • Type B RCD and MCB EV consumer units

The Rolec EVO Solar CT Clamp Kit is the single-phase solar measurement accessory for compatible EVO chargers.

ACSR5011 is listed by Rolec as the EVO Single Phase Solar CT Clamp Kit. The EVO charger page verifies surplus solar charging compatibility and explains that available surplus solar power can be allocated to the vehicle. This accessory is therefore relevant where an EVO installation is being configured to support solar-aware charging and the project requires the Rolec-listed single-phase solar CT kit. It should be matched to the charger model, supply type and solar installation before ordering. It does not create solar generation and it does not replace load balancing or circuit protection hardware. It provides the measurement accessory route needed by the compatible EVO setup. For wider EV and energy accessories, see the Rolec range.

  • Rolec product code ACSR5011
  • EVO Single Phase Solar CT Clamp Kit
  • Accessory for compatible Rolec EVO solar charging setups
  • Used where EVO surplus solar charging is configured
  • Single-phase solar CT accessory
  • ACSR5014 is the EVO Three Phase Solar and Load Balancing CT Clamp Kit
  • Supported by Rolec accessory warranty terms

What does the solar CT kit support?

The solar CT kit supports EVO’s solar-aware charging arrangement by giving the charger a measurement input related to the installation. The EVO page verifies surplus solar charging compatibility and describes the charger’s ability to allocate available surplus solar power to the vehicle. The CT accessory is part of that measurement and control setup.

The kit does not add solar panels, inverter capacity or battery storage. Those parts of the system are separate. The charger can only use surplus solar charging where the wider electrical installation and charger configuration support it. Installers should confirm the solar generation system, meter position and CT route before selecting the kit.

Single-phase or three-phase solar CT?

ACSR5011 is the single-phase solar CT clamp kit. Rolec lists ACSR5014 as the EVO Three Phase Solar and Load Balancing CT Clamp Kit. That official wording is important because the three-phase solar option also includes load balancing in the verified accessory name.

Choose the single-phase solar kit when the EVO installation and supply are single phase and the project calls for ACSR5011. Choose the three-phase solar and load balancing kit where the EVO installation is three phase and the charger documentation calls for ACSR5014. The solar installation and charger model should be checked together before ordering.

Planning the CT position

The CT clamp position should be planned around the incoming supply, generation connection and charger measurement requirements. A solar CT accessory installed in the wrong location may not provide the information the charger needs for the intended solar mode. The route should be checked before the charger is commissioned.

Installers should also consider cable routing and future access. Solar equipment, consumer units and meter positions are often separated across a property. Planning the CT clamp route with the charger cable avoids a later surface run or an inaccessible sensor position.

Solar kit and load balancing kit choices

ACSR5011 is the single-phase solar kit. ACSR5010 is the EVO Single Phase CT Clamp and 10m cable for load balancing. The products are not the same accessory, even though both are CT-based. They support different measurement roles on the EVO platform.

Where a site needs both solar-aware charging and demand management, the installer should check the EVO documentation and decide which CT accessories are required for the specific charger and supply type. The verified accessory list separates single-phase load balancing, single-phase solar, three-phase load balancing, and three-phase solar with load balancing. That structure should guide the final parts list.

EVO solar CT questions
