The Rolec SecuriCharge Smart 7.4kW EV Charger with LCD Screen is a black single-phase chargepoint with one Type 2 socket and a 5-inch display. ROLEC2111B provides up to 7.4kW at 32A from a 230V AC supply and adds the LCD screen to the standard SecuriCharge single-socket format. The display is designed to show charging instructions, real-time charging status and live MID meter readings for the outlet, giving drivers more local information at the charger than the standard model. This makes it useful for workplaces, long-stay car parks, residential developments and exposed locations where users may need clear on-unit guidance but the project does not require integrated contactless payment. Operation remains available through app, RFID or plug and charge. OCPP 1.6J support, MID compliant metering and 4G, Wi-Fi and Ethernet communications support managed charging. See the broader Rolec range for related EV charging hardware.

  • One universal Type 2 charging socket
  • Up to 7.4kW charging output at 32A
  • Single-phase 230V AC input supply
  • Black unit colour
  • 5-inch LCD display screen
  • No integrated contactless payment terminal on this variant
  • Mobile app, RFID and plug and charge operation
  • OCPP 1.6J communications protocol
  • 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy and RJ45 Ethernet communications
  • PME fault detection with no earth electrode required
  • Integrated Class 1 MID compliant metering
  • IP54 enclosure and socket rating with IK10 impact protection

Why add the LCD screen

The LCD screen improves local guidance for drivers who may not be familiar with the charger or the site process. It can show step-by-step charging instructions, real-time charging status and live MID meter readings for the outlet. That matters in long-stay car parks, commercial sites and residential developments where different users may interact with the charger across the day. It reduces reliance on the user already knowing the app or access method before reaching the bay.

The screen does not make this the payment-terminal model. ROLEC2111B adds the display but does not include integrated contactless payment hardware. That makes it suitable for managed sites where access is handled through app, RFID or plug and charge, but where the operator still wants better on-unit information. If walk-up card payment is required, ROLEC1111B adds contactless payment without the LCD, and ROLEC3111B combines the payment terminal with the LCD screen.

Control and management for shared sites

SecuriCharge supports mobile app, RFID and plug and charge operation. RFID is useful for controlled access by staff, residents or approved users. App operation gives a digital route into the selected chargepoint management platform. Plug and charge can be used where the operator wants lower friction and access control is not required at the unit.

OCPP 1.6J communications allow the charger to connect with compatible chargepoint management systems. This supports managed public or private charging networks, subject to the platform chosen. The integrated Class 1 MID compliant meter gives the operator accurate consumption data, which is useful for billing, cost allocation and monitoring. Communications include 4G LTE, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, NFC, RJ45 Ethernet and Bluetooth Low Energy for installer configuration. Data encryption level TLS 1.2 is listed for cyber security.

Protection and installer planning

Built-in protection includes AC overload and fault current protection through a 40A 30mA Type A RCBO per socket, plus 6mA DC fault protection, lightning surge protection, over temperature protection and PME fault detection. PME fault detection removes the need for an earth electrode or rod for that function. Required external protection still needs assessment based on cable type and route, and surge protection may be required depending on the installation.

Automatic dynamic load balancing is supported, although the data sheet notes that additional hardware may be required. Static load management is software configurable. These functions are important on commercial or residential sites where several chargers may be installed against a constrained supply. The product overview also states that output can be configured down to a minimum of 6A if supply is limited. For load and circuit planning, include EV circuit protection in the project review.

Housing, ratings and mounting choices

The unit measures 320mm wide, 575mm high and 155mm deep. The body is heavy-duty 1.5mm steel with zinc primer and a textured polyester powder coat finish. Where fitted, the fascia is tempered glass. The enclosure and socket are rated IP54, impact protection is IK10, and the charger operates from -30°C to +50°C. Dual tamper and breach notifications and a lockable front access door support use in exposed car parks.

Wall and post mounting are supported. The options list includes a SecuriCharge mounting post for one charger, a mounting post for two chargers and a ground mounting base. For car parks with vehicle movement close to the charger, physical protection should be considered as part of the bay design. A root mount EV chargepoint protector can help separate the charger position from vehicle impact risk where the site layout requires it.

Choosing between LCD and payment variants

ROLEC2111B is the single-socket 7.4kW SecuriCharge with the LCD screen. ROLEC2121B is the related dual-socket 7.4kW LCD version. ROLEC2113B and ROLEC2123B move the LCD specification to 22kW three-phase supply arrangements. These variants suit sites where local display information matters but card payment is not required at the charger.

The standard ROLEC0311B removes both the LCD screen and contactless payment terminal. ROLEC1111B adds contactless payment without the LCD screen. ROLEC3111B combines both the LCD screen and contactless payment terminal for the highest user-interface specification in the single-socket 7.4kW set. Choose this model when driver guidance and live status at the unit are more important than direct contactless payment.

SecuriCharge LCD questions

What does ROLEC2111B show on the LCD screen?

The SecuriCharge LCD screen provides step-by-step charging instructions, real-time charging status and live MID meter readings for each outlet. This variant has one outlet, so the display information relates to the single Type 2 socket.

Does the LCD model include contactless payment?

No. ROLEC2111B includes the 5-inch LCD screen but not the integrated contactless payment terminal. The combined LCD and contactless payment single-socket model is ROLEC3111B.

Is this a single-phase charger?

Yes. This variant is the 1 x 7.4kW single-phase SecuriCharge with a 230V AC input supply. Three-phase SecuriCharge versions are available under separate 22kW SKUs.
