The Rolec WallPod Mounting Post is a 1350mm galvanised steel post for off-wall WallPod charger installations. EVFP0010 is listed in the Rolec WallPod data sheet as the WallPod galvanised steel mounting post, making it a fitment accessory rather than a charger. It is used where a compatible WallPod unit needs to be mounted at a parking space and a building wall is not the correct location. That can include driveways with no suitable wall, private parking spaces set away from the property, small workplace bays and shared residential parking areas. The post should be planned as part of the physical charger layout, with charger height, cable route, user approach and any surrounding protection considered before installation. For broader brand context, see the Rolec range.

When a WallPod post is needed

A mounting post is specified when a WallPod charger cannot be fixed to a suitable wall in the right location. The charger may need to stand at the edge of a driveway, beside a private parking space or at the head of a small commercial bay. A post-mounted layout can reduce awkward cable runs between the charger and the vehicle inlet, provided the supply route and ground fixing are planned correctly.

The post position should be selected from the real parking arrangement. Installers should check the usual vehicle position, charge port side, cable reach, pedestrian movement and any nearby kerbs or walls. A post placed too close to the vehicle may restrict access around the charger. A post placed too far away can create cable handling problems. Setting the post out from the charger and vehicle together reduces those risks.

How it supports WallPod installations

Rolec WallPod chargers are listed as wall or post mounted units in the manufacturer data sheet. EVFP0010 gives a dedicated WallPod post option, so the installer does not need to adapt a non-matched support. It is most relevant to socketed and tethered WallPod installs where the electrical design already confirms the charger model and the physical question is where the unit should sit.

The post should be considered alongside the charger’s circuit route. Cable entry, isolation, protective device location and future maintenance access all affect the finished job. For a tethered WallPod, allow space for the cable and connector to be stored without sitting across a walkway. For a socketed unit, allow a sensible route for the user’s Type 2 cable between the post and the vehicle.

Post mounting and bay protection

A freestanding charger position can be more exposed than a wall-mounted position. Vehicles reverse, turn and open doors close to the charger, especially in small car parks. The post location should therefore be reviewed with the bay marking and any protective equipment before the ground is drilled or excavated.

Where the charger is vulnerable to vehicle movement, a root mount EV chargepoint protection barrier can be included where groundworks are planned. A surface mounted barrier can be considered where the surface is already finished. Signage is also useful where the bay forms part of a shared or visitor parking area.

Choosing between Rolec post accessories

EVFP0010 is the 1350mm galvanised steel post listed for WallPod in the manufacturer WallPod data sheet. EVFP0035 is a separate Rolec mounting post listed on current Rolec accessory pages for ranges including EVO, Zura and WallPod, with fitment up to two units where specified. EVFP0040 is the WallPod plate for mounting post and should be checked where a WallPod is being mounted to the relevant post arrangement.

The important buying point is compatibility. Select the charger first, then choose the post and any plate or base accessory required by that charger family. Do not treat Rolec mounting accessories as universal across every product range. A WallPod post layout has different requirements from a SecuriCharge post or a larger pedestal charger.

WallPod mounting post questions

What is EVFP0010 used for?

EVFP0010 is the Rolec WallPod galvanised steel mounting post listed in the WallPod data sheet. It is used where a compatible WallPod EV charger needs to be installed away from a wall.

Is this a charger?

No. It is a mounting post accessory. The compatible WallPod EV charger is specified separately.

Does the post replace bay protection?

No. The post supports the charger position, but it does not replace a protection barrier where the charger is exposed to vehicle movement. Barrier placement should be reviewed from the final bay layout.
