The Sync Energy Flow SEFB512G is a 5.12kWh LiFePO4 battery module for Flow hybrid inverter and all-in-one systems. The battery family is sold in stack options with 1, 2, 3 or 4 modules, using official variant codes SEFB512G1, SEFB512G2, SEFB512G3 and SEFB512G4. The LAMPS SKU is retained as SEFB512G for the product page family. A single module provides 5.12kWh total capacity, while the listed stack options provide 5.12kWh, 10.24kWh, 15.4kWh and 20.4kWh capacity steps. The module uses LiFePO4 chemistry, has 90% depth of discharge, 6000 life cycles and integrated stack connection. It is the battery expansion component for Flow systems using the 3.6kW or 6kW hybrid inverter.

Battery stack options for Flow systems

The Flow battery family is modular. SEFB512G1 is the one-battery stack at 5.12kWh. SEFB512G2 is the two-battery stack at 10.24kWh. SEFB512G3 is the three-battery stack at 15.4kWh. SEFB512G4 is the four-battery stack at 20.4kWh. These variants allow a system to be sized around storage requirement, available floor space and the selected inverter configuration.

The installation guide states that offering additional batteries separately allows future expansion, enabling up to four extra batteries to be added to an all-in-one kit. It also describes a two-tower system consisting of inverter and batteries up to 15kWh, with a separate battery tower up to 20kWh. That makes the battery module relevant both as part of a first installation and as an expansion item.

What each 5.12kWh module provides

Each module uses LiFePO4 battery chemistry and provides 5.12kWh total capacity. Depth of discharge is listed as 90%, and life cycle rating is 6000 cycles. The module has integrated heating packs, with charging operation using integrated heating below 5°C.

Nominal voltage is 51.2V, and battery voltage range is 44.8-56.2V. Recommended charging current is 50A and maximum charge current is 100A. On the 3.6kW Flow system, maximum charge or discharge power is 3.6kW with 80A maximum charge or discharge current. On the 6kW Flow system, maximum charge or discharge power is 6kW with 120A maximum charge or discharge current.

Installation role in one-tower and two-tower layouts

Flow systems support three installation configurations. Option A uses a wall mounted inverter with a separate floor tower. Option B uses one tower with inverter and up to 15kWh of batteries. Option C uses two towers, with inverter and batteries up to 15kWh plus a separate battery tower up to 20kWh. The battery module is the building block used in these tower arrangements.

The battery module has fold down handles and integrated stack connection, helping installers build a neat battery tower without loose inter-module terminals being the primary mechanical feature. The Flow installation guide also lists a 2m inverter to battery extension cable and a 2m battery to battery extension cable as range accessories, which supports layouts where the battery tower is separated from the wall mounted inverter or another tower.

Protection, temperature and communication

The Flow system specification lists IP65 enclosure protection and IK10 rating for the range. Integrated fire suppression is included in each battery module. Ambient temperature range is -15°C to +55°C, discharge operating temperature is -20°C to +60°C, and charging operation includes integrated heating below 5°C.

System communication interfaces include LCD, LED, RS485, CAN, Wi-Fi and Ethernet, with monitoring through the Sync Energy app. The battery sits within a system that also lists Type 2 integrated AC/DC surge protection, anti-islanding protection, residual-current detection, ground fault monitoring and insulation resistance detection at inverter and system level.

Using batteries with 3.6kW or 6kW inverters

The same Flow battery module family is used with the 3.6kW and 6kW hybrid inverter options. Battery capacity should be selected separately from inverter output. A 3.6kW inverter system can use 1, 2 or 3 all-in-one battery steps, while separate battery stack options provide up to 4 modules in a battery tower.

The 6kW system supports the same 1, 2 or 3 all-in-one pack structure, but with 6kW inverter power and higher maximum charge or discharge power. Choose the inverter size by the AC and PV design, then choose the battery count by storage requirement and expansion plan. For related product groups, use LAMPS solar batteries and solar inverters.
