The Sync Energy Wall Charger 2 EVWC2T7G is a 7.4kW tethered EV charger for a 220V to 240V AC, 50Hz to 60Hz single-phase supply, with a fixed 7.5m Type 2 cable and IP65 enclosure. It is the Wi-Fi and LAN model for users who prefer a connector that is always ready at the charger. The 7.5m lead distinguishes it from shorter domestic units and gives more tolerance where the wall position, parking direction or charge-port location varies.

How does solar charging use the CT?

One EVA120CT1 clamp and connector are listed with the charger. The clamp is installed around the incoming live conductor before the supply tails divide, allowing the system to measure property demand and exported generation.

Auto Solar Charging uses this information to control the EV load around available export. Dynamic load management can also reduce charging demand when other household loads bring the installation close to its configured supply limit.

Where does the 7.5m lead help?

The longer fixed lead suits chargers installed beside a garage, on a side elevation or away from the vehicle's usual inlet. It also gives more tolerance where drivers alternate between forward and reverse parking.

The complete cable route should be measured during survey rather than using only the distance between wall and parking bay. The lead should not pass across gates, steps, public land or positions where it may be driven over.

A built-in wrap and connector holster provide storage between sessions. The 7.5m cable creates a larger coil than a short lead, so the mounting height and pedestrian route need to be considered before fixing the unit.

What must the installer provide?

The charger incorporates open-PEN protection and Type A AC and DC leakage detection. The installation guidance still calls for a dedicated supply and references a 40A circuit breaker.

Power terminals accept conductors from 4mm² to 10mm². Rear cable entry uses a 25mm opening, while the underside can accommodate entries from 16mm to 32mm. Cable size and protective-device selection must reflect the route, grouping, installation method and voltage drop.

Does EVWC2T7G include mobile data?

No. This model uses Wi-Fi and wired LAN. The EVWC2T7GG sibling adds 4G while retaining the same charging output and 7.5m tethered cable.

Is the charging cable removable?

No. The 7.5m Type 2 lead is permanently attached to the charger. Customers who want to select or remove the vehicle lead should use the socketed Wall Charger 2 instead.

Is the load-management clamp included?

Yes. The listed box contents include one EVA120CT1 CT clamp and its connector. Correct installation direction and commissioning values are required before load management or solar control can operate properly.

Does open-PEN protection remove the earth rod?

It is intended to remove the need for a separate earth electrode on a suitable PME installation. The electrician must still verify the earthing arrangement and certify the completed circuit.
