The Rolec EVO Load Balancing CT Clamp Kit is the single-phase CT accessory for EVO dynamic load balancing.

ACSR5010 is listed on the Rolec EVO product page as the EVO Single Phase CT Clamp and 10m cable. The same page describes EVO dynamic load balancing, which adjusts power output depending on household energy consumption, and notes that single-phase models include the CT clamp and cable while three-phase models require an optional CT kit. This accessory is therefore relevant where a single-phase EVO installation needs the verified Rolec CT clamp route for load monitoring or replacement. It should be matched to the charger variant and site wiring before ordering. It is not a charger, a consumer unit or a protective device. For wider Rolec EV charging equipment, see the Rolec range.

  • Rolec product code ACSR5010
  • EVO Single Phase CT Clamp and 10m cable
  • Accessory for compatible Rolec EVO installations
  • Used with EVO dynamic load balancing requirements
  • Single-phase load balancing CT accessory
  • ACSR5013 is the EVO three-phase load balancing CT clamp kit
  • Supported by Rolec accessory warranty terms

Why does EVO use a CT clamp?

The CT clamp gives the charger a current measurement input so the load balancing function can respond to site demand. On a single-phase domestic or light commercial supply, this helps the charger understand how much current is being used elsewhere on the installation. The charger can then adjust EV charging output where the supported configuration requires it.

The accessory is part of the measurement and control system. It does not provide overcurrent protection and it does not remove the need for correctly selected protective devices. The installer still needs to design the charger circuit, source protection and cable route around the EVO installation requirements.

Single-phase kit or three-phase kit?

ACSR5010 is the single-phase EVO CT clamp and 10m cable. ACSR5013 is listed separately as the EVO Three Phase Load Balancing CT Clamp Kit. The two products should not be treated as interchangeable because single-phase and three-phase monitoring require different accessory arrangements.

Choose the single-phase kit when the EVO installation is single phase and the accessory requirement calls for ACSR5010. Choose the three-phase kit when the EVO installation is a three-phase model and the charger documentation calls for the optional three-phase load balancing kit. The charger variant, supply type and installation instructions should decide the selection.

Where the 10m cable matters

The 10m cable should be checked against the distance between the charger, meter position or distribution point, and the intended CT clamp location. In compact domestic installations, that length may be straightforward. In detached garages, larger houses or light commercial sites, the route can be less direct and should be measured before ordering.

Installers should also consider cable routing, segregation and access for future maintenance. The CT clamp needs to be installed in the correct location and orientation for the charger to interpret the measurement correctly. If the route is awkward, planning the CT cable at the same time as the charger supply can prevent a poor retrofit path later.

Pairing with EVO protection equipment

EVO installations still require the correct source protection and consumer unit arrangement. Rolec lists Type A RCBO EV consumer unit options as EVO accessories, with single-phase and three-phase versions available. Those items sit alongside the CT clamp kit, rather than being replaced by it.

For a complete single-phase EVO schedule, the installer should identify the charger, CT kit, consumer unit or protective device arrangement, cable route and any post or holster accessories. The load balancing kit helps the charger manage available capacity, while the consumer unit and protective devices protect the circuit.

EVO load balancing questions

What is included in ACSR5010?

Rolec lists ACSR5010 as the EVO Single Phase CT Clamp and 10m cable. It is the single-phase CT accessory for compatible EVO load balancing installations.

Is ACSR5010 for three-phase EVO?

No. ACSR5010 is the single-phase kit. ACSR5013 is listed as the EVO Three Phase Load Balancing CT Clamp Kit.

Does it replace an EV consumer unit?

No. The CT clamp kit supports measurement for load balancing. The EV circuit still needs appropriate protective equipment selected for the installation.
