When to choose the white RCD board

CFEV5AW-01 is the white version for EV charger circuits where the design uses a 40A 30mA Type A RCD and a 40A MCB as separate devices. The Type 2 SPD is included in the same populated board, keeping surge protection within the local EV circuit protection enclosure. This makes the unit a practical fit where the charger supply needs a compact external or internal board close to the installation route.

The white finish is the visible difference from the grey CFEV5A-01 version. The device layout remains the same: 40A Type A RCD, 40A MCB and Type 2 SPD. Choose the white finish where the board is mounted on pale render, white cladding, light brickwork or a customer-facing wall where the protection unit should sit more quietly against the surface.

Protection devices already fitted

The board is supplied populated, not as a plain enclosure. The 40A 30mA Type A RCD provides residual-current protection, the 40A MCB provides overcurrent protection, and the Type 2 SPD provides surge protection for the EV circuit arrangement. The installer still needs to confirm that this layout matches the charger, cable route and circuit design, but the product removes the need to build the device set from separate parts.
