The myenergi zappi ZAPPI-2H22UW-G is a 22kW three-phase untethered EV charger in white with a Type 2 socket. It is built for 400V AC three-phase supplies, making it relevant for workplaces, commercial buildings and domestic properties that already have three-phase power available. The untethered format gives a Type 2 socket with locking system instead of a fixed cable, so the user can choose a cable length that suits the parking layout. The 22kW rating is vehicle dependent, since the car’s onboard AC charger must also accept three-phase charging at that level. Like other screen-based zappi models, it includes a graphical backlit LCD, ECO, ECO+ and FAST modes, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, dynamic load balancing and solar or wind generation support. It belongs within LAMPS’ zappi range.

  • 22kW rated power on a 400V AC three-phase supply
  • 6A to 32A variable charging current, 32A maximum
  • Untethered Type 2 socket with locking system
  • White zappi variant with graphical backlit LCD
  • Mode 3 charging to IEC 61851-1 communication protocol
  • ECO, ECO+ and FAST charging modes
  • Built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet for internet connection
  • Dynamic load balancing setting to limit supply or grid current
  • Integrated 6mA DC residual current protection to EN 62955
  • IP65, IK10 and 439mm x 282mm x 122mm enclosure

Where does 22kW three-phase fit?

A 22kW zappi is for sites with a three-phase supply and a vehicle that can use higher AC charging rates. myenergi positions three-phase chargers for workplaces, commercial buildings and some homes with three-phase supply. On a standard single-phase domestic supply, a 22kW unit does not deliver the 22kW benefit.

The socketed version is useful where more than one vehicle may use the charger. Different drivers can bring their own cable, or the site can provide a cable length suited to the bay. The locking socket holds the cable during charging, while the wall unit remains cable-free when the session is complete.

Solar charging on three-phase sites

The three charging modes are central to the zappi platform. FAST mode behaves like an ordinary Mode 3 charge point and charges at the maximum available rate, subject to the vehicle and supply. ECO mode adjusts charge power in response to generation and site consumption, limiting grid electricity use while still continuing the charge.

ECO+ mode goes further by pausing charging when the configured import threshold is exceeded. The charge then continues only when sufficient surplus power is available. This makes the 22kW zappi relevant for three-phase commercial or larger domestic solar sites where EV charging should respond to generation rather than simply draw at full load whenever a vehicle is connected.

For myenergi sites with more than one energy product, zappi can work alongside devices such as eddi and harvi through the myenergi ecosystem. Where surplus generation should also be used for hot water or resistive loads, the myenergi eddi power diverter is a relevant supporting product.

Installation checks for 22kW zappi

For ZAPPI-2H22UW-G, the 22kW datasheet lists a 400V AC three-phase supply at 50Hz and a 32A maximum rated current. Integrated 6mA DC residual current protection is provided with RDC-DD characteristics to EN 62955. The installer still needs to select the complete upstream protection and circuit design for the site.

Dynamic load balancing can limit current drawn from the unit supply or grid. The datasheet lists load and external CTs designed to meet Class B accuracy under EN 50470, with a 100A maximum primary current grid sensor. Three-phase installations require careful CT placement and phase setup so zappi responds to the correct supply measurements.

The unit is designed for permanent indoor or outdoor mounting, with rear, bottom or side cable entry. IP65 weatherproof protection and IK10 impact resistance support exposed installations when the enclosure is installed correctly. On commercial or shared parking sites, the mounting height, bay position, cable route and isolation arrangement should be planned before final selection.

Display, connectivity and smart functions

The standard zappi includes a graphical backlit LCD, tap-operated display backlight and front LED status indication. This is useful on business premises because users can see charger information at the unit, while authorised managers can still use remote monitoring and myenergi account tools.

Wi-Fi and Ethernet are built in for internet connection. Later zappi models with built-in Wi-Fi can also use OCPP 1.6J through the myenergi OCPP gateway, subject to firmware, registration and network requirements. That can be useful where a site needs centralised reporting or control through a compatible charge point platform.

Pin-code lock, programmable timer, charge and event logging, economy tariff sense input and remote control are listed zappi features. For tariff-led domestic or workplace charging, check the LAMPS guide to Intelligent Octopus Go compatible chargers and confirm customer eligibility with the tariff provider.

Choosing between 22kW zappi variants

This white untethered model is the flexible cable option for three-phase sites. The white tethered zappi is better where a fixed 6.5m Type 2 lead should always be available at the charger. Tethered is usually quicker for repeat users, while untethered is tidier and more flexible.

Colour choice is separate from power and connection format. The black untethered zappi suits darker elevations or dark posts, while white suits pale walls and cleaner front-of-building finishes. For off-wall mounting, use the approved zappi pedestal option and check the final cable route around the bay.

22kW socketed zappi questions

Will ZAPPI-2H22UW-G charge every car at 22kW?

No. The site needs a three-phase supply and the vehicle must be able to accept 22kW AC charging. myenergi notes that three-phase charging output is vehicle permitting.

Does this 22kW zappi include a cable?

No. This model is untethered, so it has a Type 2 socket with locking system. The charging cable is selected separately for the vehicle and bay layout.

Can this model use surplus solar or wind energy?

Yes. zappi works with Solar PV or wind turbine systems. ECO and ECO+ modes adjust charging in response to generation and site consumption.
