The Sync Energy Flow SEF1A36G is a 3.6kW all-in-one home energy system with 1 to 3 battery module options. It combines a single-phase 3.6kW hybrid inverter with modular LiFePO4 battery storage, giving buyers a clear choice between 5.12kWh, 10.24kWh and 15.4kWh packaged capacities in the 3.6kW all-in-one range. The official variant codes are SEF1A36G1, SEF1A36G2 and SEF1A36G3, while the LAMPS SKU is retained as SEF1A36G to cover the product page family. The system is designed for new installations or retrofit projects with or without solar PV. It can store energy from solar generation and the grid, support full grid import and export, and be monitored through the Sync Energy app.

  • 3.6kW single-phase hybrid inverter in all SEF1A36G variants
  • Battery options: 1, 2 or 3 modules
  • Battery capacity options: 5.12kWh, 10.24kWh or 15.4kWh
  • LiFePO4 battery chemistry with 90% depth of discharge
  • PV input: 5.4kW maximum input power, 150% PV oversizing
  • Two independent MPPT strings with 550V maximum PV voltage
  • 10 year warranty or 6000 cycles

Which 3.6kW all-in-one variant fits?

The 3.6kW all-in-one range is split by battery count. SEF1A36G1 combines the 3.6kW inverter with one battery module for 5.12kWh capacity. SEF1A36G2 uses two battery modules for 10.24kWh capacity. SEF1A36G3 uses three battery modules for 15.4kWh capacity. The inverter power remains 3.6kW across all three options.

The dimensions with floor stand increase as batteries are added. The one-battery system is 979mm high, 621mm wide and 245mm deep. The two-battery system is 1288mm high, 621mm wide and 245mm deep. The three-battery system is 1597mm high, 621mm wide and 245mm deep. The weights are 99.6kg, 150.7kg and 201.8kg respectively, so the installation location must be planned around both height and floor loading.

Solar-ready storage and grid charging

The Flow all-in-one system can be installed with solar PV, battery storage and grid connection as a complete home energy management system. It can store excess solar generation for later use and can also store energy from the grid during off-peak periods. This makes the system relevant to homes that already have solar panels and to properties that may add PV later.

The 3.6kW inverter has a maximum PV input power of 5.4kW, which is 150% of inverter rating. Maximum PV voltage is 550V, and the MPPT range is 80-500V, with a full MPPT range of 110-500V. There are two independent MPPT strings, with maximum input current of 18.5A x 2 and maximum short-circuit current of 26A x 2.

Battery performance and heating control

Each Flow battery module has 5.12kWh total capacity and uses LiFePO4 chemistry. The specification lists 6000 life cycles and 90% depth of discharge. Nominal voltage is 51.2V, with battery voltage range of 44.8-56.2V.

The 3.6kW all-in-one variants list 3.6kW charging current, 50A recommended charging current, 100A maximum charge current and 3.6kW maximum charge or discharge power. Maximum charge and discharge current is 80A. Integrated heating below 5°C is listed for charging operation, and discharge operation is stated from -20°C to +60°C. Ambient temperature range is -15°C to +55°C.

Mounting and installation configurations

Sync Energy Flow systems are available as all-in-one kits or individual components. The installation guide describes three installation options: a wall mounted inverter with a separate floor tower, a one-tower all-in-one arrangement with inverter and up to 15kWh of batteries, and a two-tower arrangement with inverter and batteries up to 15kWh plus a separate battery tower up to 20kWh. This all-in-one 3.6kW page is aligned to the one-tower kit family.

In-box contents for the hybrid inverter include the inverter, wall mounting bracket, cable entry covers, wall bracket and stack connecting assembly bolts, CT clamp and connector, AC power connectors, earth bond ring crimp and PV DC connectors. The guide states that only the PV connectors supplied with the inverter should be used. For related storage categories, use LAMPS solar batteries and solar inverters.

Protection, monitoring and approvals

The 3.6kW Flow specification lists IP65 enclosure protection, Type 2 integrated AC/DC surge protection, anti-islanding protection, AC short-circuit protection, residual-current detection, ground fault monitoring and insulation resistance detection. The topology is transformerless, and cooling is by intelligent fan. Noise emission is stated as below 25dB, and standby consumption is below 10W.

Monitoring and communication interfaces include LCD, LED, RS485, CAN, Wi-Fi and Ethernet. The system is powered by the Sync Energy app for remote monitoring and control. Certifications and approvals listed include G98/G99, EN62109-1, EN62109-2 and EMC EN61000-6-2 and EN61000-6-3. Fire suppression is integrated in each battery module.

3.6kW or 6kW Flow system?

The Flow range is available with 3.6kW or 6kW hybrid inverters. The 3.6kW SEF1A36G variants use the same 1, 2 or 3 battery module steps as the 6kW all-in-one range, but the inverter output is lower. The 6kW variants provide 6kW inverter power and higher maximum charge or discharge power.

Choose the 3.6kW all-in-one where the system design, grid connection and expected loads are suited to a 3.6kW inverter. Choose the 6kW sibling only where the property, DNO requirements and electrical design support the higher inverter output. Battery count should then be selected by the required storage capacity and available installation space.
