The Rolec SecuriCharge Mounting Post is a freestanding post accessory for one SecuriCharge charger. EVFP0065 is listed by Rolec as the SecuriCharge mounting post that fits one charger and conforms with PAS 1899. It is used where a SecuriCharge unit cannot be wall mounted, or where a freestanding position gives the bay a better charging layout. SecuriCharge is a commercial charger range used in workplaces, long-stay parking, residential developments and exposed car parks, so the mounting post should be planned with site movement and access in mind. A separate EVFP0075 post is listed for up to two SecuriCharge chargers, which makes EVFP0065 the correct single-charger route. The post should be considered alongside the SecuriCharge mounting base, physical protection and bay signage.

When the single post is right

The single SecuriCharge post is specified when one charger needs a freestanding support. It is the better match for one marked bay, one charging position or a project where a second charger is not being installed on the same support. It keeps the hardware matched to the job without adding the extra capacity of the two-charger post.

Open car parks often require post mounting because the charger needs to sit at the bay rather than on a building wall. The post location should be set from user access and cable reach, not from the supply route alone. If the charger has a screen or payment terminal, user approach and visibility also matter. The charger must remain reachable for operation, inspection and maintenance after the post is installed.

Choosing EVFP0065 or EVFP0075

EVFP0065 fits one SecuriCharge charger. EVFP0075 fits up to two SecuriCharge chargers. That is the key variant difference. If the project is a single-bay or single-charger layout, EVFP0065 is the cleaner selection. If two SecuriCharge units need to share a post position, EVFP0075 should be reviewed instead.

The decision should be made before groundworks and cable routes are finalised. A two-charger arrangement changes the cable entry, service space and user approach. It may also change the barrier layout and bay marking. Ordering the one-charger post for a future two-charger layout could create rework later, while ordering the two-charger post for a simple single-bay install may overcomplicate the setting-out.

Ground base and barrier planning

Rolec lists a ground mounting base for the SecuriCharge mounting post. The post and base should be treated as one physical mounting package during project planning. Duct entry, charger height, maintenance access and any local civils work all need to be coordinated before the final position is agreed.

SecuriCharge units are often installed in exposed commercial parking areas, so physical protection should be reviewed. A root mount EV chargepoint protection barrier is appropriate where barrier placement is built into the groundworks. A surface mounted barrier may suit retrofit sites with a finished surface. Barrier placement should protect the charger without blocking the user from the socket, screen, payment terminal or front access door.

Using the post with SecuriCharge

SecuriCharge variants can include standard smart operation, contactless payment, LCD display, or combined LCD and payment hardware. The mounting post does not determine those features. It simply supports the compatible SecuriCharge unit at the charging bay. The installer still needs to confirm the charger model, outlet count, user interface and cable route before fixing the post.

For managed commercial sites, it is useful to treat the post, charger, signage and protection as one package. The Rolec range includes SecuriCharge chargers, accessories and related site equipment. Specifying them together reduces the chance of a charger being correctly wired but awkward to reach, difficult to protect or poorly positioned for users.
