Ideal for

  • Single-phase homes requiring up to 7.4kW AC charging
  • Domestic driveways where a removable Type 2 cable is preferred
  • Small workplaces needing app, RFID or plug and go access
  • Solar PV homes using EVO ECO and ECO+ charging modes
  • Installations requiring Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet connectivity

Works well with

  • EVPP0100 5m 32A Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable
  • EVPP0107 10m 32A Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable
  • EVRS0030 Type 2 plug and cable wall or post mount holster
  • EVIN0015 40A single-phase EV consumer unit with Type A RCBO
  • ACSR5011 EVO single-phase solar CT clamp kit

The Rolec EVO ROLEC5011 is a Daytona Grey 7.4kW, 32A untethered EV charger for a 230V AC, 50/60Hz single-phase supply, with a Mode 3 universal charging socket and IP54 enclosure. It suits homes and light commercial bays where the owner wants a compact charger body, removable cable format, app control and RFID access in one unit. It sits within the Rolec EV charger range for buyers comparing domestic and managed charging options.

  • 7.4kW maximum output with a 32A single-phase supply
  • 230V AC, 50/60Hz single-phase input
  • Mode 3 universal socket with cable selected separately
  • Wi-Fi, Ethernet, EVO app, RFID and OCPP 1.6 connectivity
  • AC 30mA Type A, DC 6mA, PME fault detection and dynamic load balancing
  • 260mm wide x 260mm high x 112mm deep, Daytona Grey finish
  • IP54, IK10 and 5-year manufacturer warranty

Will the EVO fit a smaller wall space?

The EVO body is 260mm wide x 260mm high x 112mm deep, so it suits driveways, garages and small commercial bays where the charger should not dominate the wall. The square body and Daytona Grey finish make it a practical option for visible positions near a front door, garage opening or allocated parking bay.

Because the charger is untethered, the lead is not permanently stored on the front of the unit. The driver connects a separate Mode 3 cable only when charging, then stores it in the vehicle, garage or cable store afterwards. This helps where the wall position needs to stay tidy or where more than one cable length may be used.

How much control does EVO give users?

The EVO app supports scheduled charging and the charging modes used by the Rolec EVO range. The charger can also be used with RFID cards or connected to a supported OCPP 1.6 charge-point management system. That makes it useful for homes, staff parking or light commercial locations where access needs more control than plug and charge.

The 7.4kW model uses Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. A wired Ethernet route can be useful where the charger is mounted away from reliable Wi-Fi coverage, while RFID access helps when the charger is visible from a shared area.

Can EVO support solar and load control?

Rolec lists surplus solar charging compatibility for EVO. The product also supports automatic dynamic load balancing, and Rolec states that single-phase models include a CT clamp and cable. Correct CT placement and commissioning are required before the charger can respond properly to site load or monitored energy flow.

Charging cost still depends on the vehicle, household demand, available generation, tariff and the user schedule. The charger provides the control route, while the installer makes sure the measurements and settings match the property.

What will affect the install cost?

The installer must confirm the single-phase supply, cable route, upstream protection, isolation, earthing arrangement, CT position and network route. EVO includes AC 30mA Type A and DC 6mA residual-current protection plus PME fault detection, but the completed circuit still needs to be designed and tested for the site.

Costs can change if the charger is far from the consumer unit, if external containment is required, if the wall is difficult to drill, if Ethernet is being routed, or if a post mount is needed. Buyers preparing for survey can read the EV charger installation guide before the work is priced.

What should be ordered with EVO?

As an untethered charger, ROLEC5011 normally needs a separate vehicle charging cable. Most Type 2 vehicles will use a Type 2-to-Type 2 Mode 3 lead selected around the bay length and charge-port position. RFID cards or fobs may be added where controlled access is required.

If wall mounting is unsuitable, the Rolec EVO Zura WallPod mounting post can be considered as part of the installation plan. The installer should also confirm whether any additional CT or solar monitoring hardware is required beyond the single-phase load-balancing hardware listed for the model.

Should I choose EVO or WallPod?

Choose EVO when a compact square charger, 5-year warranty and untethered cable flexibility are the priority. Choose WallPod where MID metering, 4G LTE connectivity and the WallPod body style are more important for the site. Both are 7.4kW single-phase Rolec chargers, so the decision is mainly about daily use, access control, metering needs and the physical charger layout.

Is ROLEC5011 the single-phase EVO model?

Yes. ROLEC5011 is the 7.4kW single-phase EVO model. The 22kW EVO model is identified separately as ROLEC5013.

Does EVO include a charging cable?

ROLEC5011 is an untethered charger, so the vehicle cable is selected separately. Most Type 2 vehicles will use a Type 2-to-Type 2 Mode 3 charging cable.

Is 4G included on ROLEC5011?

No. Rolec lists 4G for the 22kW EVO model only. The 7.4kW model uses Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity with app, RFID and OCPP control options.

What load-balancing hardware is supplied?

Rolec states that dynamic load balancing is supported and that the CT clamp and cable are included for single-phase models. The installer must commission the CT correctly for the property supply.

Can EVO be used for RFID-controlled access?

Yes. EVO supports RFID operation. RFID cards or fobs should be selected and configured where the charger is installed in a shared or managed parking position.
