Ideal for

  • Slate roof solar PV installations requiring the A-Slate bracket assembly
  • Projects referencing MCS 012 IK0251/04
  • Slate roofs with minimum 15 degree pitch where the design calls for A-Slate
  • Installers matching the F-A-SLATE LAMPS SKU to the A-SLATE Fastensol article reference

Works well with

  • Fastensol GS Roof rail-based mounting components where specified by the project design
  • Fastensol F-MR-S-3.5 F-MR3550 3550mm silver mounting rail
  • Fastensol F-UC-B UC-GS universal clamps for framed modules
  • Slate roof mounting designs using the A-Slate certified component set
  • Fastensol accessories selected to the approved slate roof layout

The Fastensol F-A-SLATE A-Slate Mate, manufacturer article A-SLATE, is an aluminium slate mounting bracket for on-roof solar PV systems on compatible slate roof coverings.

  • LAMPS sellable SKU F-A-SLATE and Fastensol article A-SLATE
  • MCS 012 reference IK0251/04 listed by Fastensol
  • Compatible roof covering listed as slates
  • Minimum permissible roof pitch listed as 15 degrees
  • Compatible substrate listed as timber with 50mm minimum rafter or batten thickness
  • Maximum design wind uplift resistance listed as 4928.5N per bracket
  • A-Slate base listed as 265mm x 164mm x 5mm, with bracket height shown as 85mm

Why use A-Slate instead of a slate hook?

A-Slate is a dedicated bracket assembly for slate roof solar mounting, not a standard roof hook. It has its own MCS 012 reference, component list and slate roof application data, which makes it a separate product from the TH04 slate hook.

The LAMPS SKU is F-A-SLATE and the Fastensol article reference is A-SLATE. Both identifiers should remain visible because installers may search either code when matching the product to a slate roof specification, Fastensol documentation or supplier quote.

What roof details are verified?

Fastensol lists slate roof coverings, a 15 degree minimum permissible roof pitch and timber substrate with 50mm minimum rafter or batten thickness. These are important selection limits because A-Slate should be chosen from a roof survey and project design, not simply because the roof has slate on it.

The datasheet test setup uses one A-Slate base including L-bracket, fixed with two 6.5mm x 100mm screws to timber with slate roof covering. The maximum design wind uplift resistance is listed as 4928.5N per bracket, with a partial safety factor of 1.1.

Which parts are listed in the assembly?

The certified component list includes the A-Slate base, A-Slate L-bracket, neoprene gasket, screw, nylon spacer, C-Tec CT1 sealant, L-bracket nut and A2 M8 x 25mm L-bracket bolt. The installer should check the supplied pack, the mounting schedule and the published component list before fitting.

Substituting fixings, sealant or bracket parts without approval can affect certification and warranty position. A-Slate should be installed only within the limits of the Fastensol documentation and the project design.

What should be checked before ordering?

Check roof pitch, slate condition, rafter or batten thickness, bracket spacing, wind uplift requirement, fixing access and weathering method. The bracket should be selected because the slate roof design calls for A-Slate, not because it looks interchangeable with a hook.

For related rail, clamp and accessory parts, browse Fastensol GS Roof or the full solar mounting systems range.

Is F-A-SLATE the same as A-SLATE?

Yes. F-A-SLATE is the LAMPS sellable SKU and A-SLATE is the Fastensol article reference for this slate mounting bracket.

Is A-Slate MCS listed?

Yes. Fastensol lists A-Slate under MCS 012 with reference IK0251/04.

What minimum pitch is listed?

The datasheet lists a 15 degree minimum permissible roof pitch for slate roof coverings.

What warranty terms apply?

Fastensol documentation states a 12-year limited product warranty and 5-year limited finish warranty, subject to correct installation and the manufacturer’s published exclusions.
